These Terms and Conditions apply to everyone who uses autismfamily.co, including Autism Family AI, the Pre-Screening for Family Support, and the Provider Marketplace. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Autism Family is a nonprofit educational organization. We are not a healthcare provider and we do not provide medical advice.

1. Educational information only

Everything on this site, including answers from Autism Family AI, is general educational information about autism. It does not diagnose autism, rule it out, or replace individualized medical, developmental, psychological, educational, legal or financial advice. Screening is not diagnosis. Using the site does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–client or any other professional relationship between you and Autism Family.

Always talk with a qualified professional about your child’s or your own situation before making decisions about care, therapy, medication, school or money.

2. Autism Family AI can make mistakes

  • Answers from Autism Family AI are created by artificial intelligence. They may be incomplete, out of date or wrong, even when they sound confident.
  • Do not rely on an answer for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions. Check important information with a qualified professional or with the organization the answer names.
  • Autism Family does not review every answer before you see it. You use the information at your own risk.
  • The assistant is not for emergencies. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. In the U.S., the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available by call or text at 988.

3. Your conversations

What you enter into Autism Family AI and the answers you receive are saved by Autism Family, as described in our Privacy Policy. We use them to follow up with you, check safety and improve answers. General questions and answers, with your name, your child’s name, age, location, email and every other personal detail removed, may be used to help answer similar questions from other families. We never share a conversation that identifies you or your child with a provider unless you ask us to.

4. Provider Marketplace listings

  • Listings are provided for information only. Autism Family does not endorse, recommend or guarantee any provider, and a listing is not a referral.
  • Many listings are prepared by Autism Family from public sources, such as the U.S. national provider registry and the provider’s own website, before the provider has claimed them. Details can be incomplete or out of date.
  • A label such as “Autism / special needs experience” means the provider’s own website describes that experience. We have not tested or verified the provider’s skills.
  • Before choosing a provider, check their licence, services, availability and the insurance they accept directly with them.
  • If a listing is wrong, please tell us through the Contact Us form and we will correct, hide or remove it.

5. Providers who list or claim a listing

  • You may claim or create a listing only for an organization you are authorized to represent, using an email address on that organization’s own website domain.
  • You are responsible for keeping your listing accurate and lawful, including your services, the states you serve, your insurance information and your logo, and for having the right to use any name, logo or text you add.
  • Autism Family may review, edit, hide or remove any listing, and may refuse or end access, at any time.
  • Paid plans are billed through our payment processor at the price shown at checkout. Payments are not refundable. To cancel a paid plan, give us 30 days’ notice through the Contact Us form; the cancellation takes effect at the end of those 30 days.
  • You agree to cover Autism Family’s losses and reasonable costs from any claim that arises from the content you add to your listing or from your breach of these terms.

6. Links to other websites

The site and Autism Family AI link to websites run by other organizations. We choose links carefully, but we do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, privacy practices or services.

7. Using the site fairly

Please do not misuse the site. That includes trying to break or get around its security, copying listings or content in bulk by automated means, entering someone else’s personal information without permission, impersonating a person or organization, or posting anything unlawful, harmful or misleading.

8. No warranty

The site, Autism Family AI, the Pre-Screening and the Provider Marketplace are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, Autism Family makes no promises of any kind about them, including that they are accurate, complete, reliable, available without interruption or suitable for any particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Autism Family and its team, volunteers and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any decision made or action taken in reliance on information from the site, Autism Family AI or a provider listing. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or by a notice on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
